Although many people often think Thomas Edison invented our modern electric system, another man, Nikola Tesla, actually developed our system.  Working with businessman George Westinghouse, Tesla shaped his ideas into our current electrical system's beginnings. Along the way, however, Tesla's ideas conflicted with Edison's plans, and the "Current War" began.

This is the story of  the Current War - the clash between emerging alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) electrical systems in the marketplace, the reaction of the developers and the public to the AC/DC debate, and how the delivery of electrical power, both AC and DC, reformed culture and transformed our way of life today.
